Every year, the recognized magazine Buen Provecho Honduras, organizes a big event all about gastronomy. Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula have the honor to be  the hosts of this event. During these 2 days, great cooking and food is celebrated and enjoyed to the max!

This year, Expo BuenProvecho had as guest of honor Chef Yisus.

Chef Yisus is Despierta America’s chef and owner of Miami restaurant, Ikura. I had the pleasure of meeting him this summer, when I went to visit, taste and learn how to make the delicious sushi rolls at his restaurant. Also, it was him who accompanied me when doing my cooking segment few months ago in Despierta America.

I was so happy when I received the news, Chef Yisus was coming to Honduras for this recognized event.

Knowing he was coming to my city, Chef Yisus invited me to be part of this experience. He was looking forward, for me to join help him in one of his live cooking classes during the Expo and without any doubt I said Yes.

In front of many people that were attending the event, I assisted Chef Yisus with a cooking class where we prepared a quite different yet delicious, “Karai Freco” salad, a honduran version of the chef’s well known crab salad prepared at Ikura.  

The salad was made of fresh avocado, tomato, cucumber, red bell pepper, bass fish and a special touch of crispy sweet potato.

Expo BuenProvecho 2017 was a unique experience and total success! It was unforgettable being able to share the kitchen with Chef Yisus.
